Exterior Styling and Lighting

The CLE reads as a long, low two-door. Its proportions stay consistent across the range: every coupe and cabriolet measures 191.0 inches long. The aerodynamic detailing is subtle rather than shouted. A spoiler edge on the trunk lid wraps around into the car’s shoulders, shaping airflow without breaking the silhouette.

LED headlamps and taillamps are standard, so the car has a finished lighting signature with no options required. Available DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps go further and can project driver alerts onto the pavement ahead, according to the Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe model page.

Paint runs from solid and metallic finishes to the matte Magno treatments. Bold blue, red and yellow shades are among the choices. Power: Three Mild-Hybrid Powertrains

Every 2027 CLE pairs a turbocharged engine with mild-hybrid assistance and all-wheel drive. On the CLE 300 and CLE 450, an integrated starter-generator adds up to 23 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. It smooths pull-away and recovers energy under braking.

The CLE 300 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four rated at 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. It drives through the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic. The CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe specifications list a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft through the same transmission.

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 takes that inline-six further with an electric auxiliary compressor. It produces 443 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. Drive goes through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT nine-speed and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, which varies torque distribution rather than holding a fixed split. Suspension is four-wheel independent on all six models, with a four-link front and five-arm multilink rear. It is tuned three ways: Comfort on the CLE 300, Sport on the CLE 450, and AMG RIDE CONTROL on the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53. The AMG model also carries active rear-axle steering. On the CLE 450, the Engineering Package adds adjustable dampers and rear-axle steering.

Interior and Comfort

Heated power front seats are standard. Each has seat-shaped controls and three memory stations. Ventilation and massage are available. Small engineering touches set the cabin apart: seat-belt presenters extend each front belt toward you as you buckle up, then retract out of the way to ease access to the rear.

Cabin appointments offer a choice of woods, metals and metallic fabrics. A Black Fine Structure console finish is among the trim options. Leather and premium leather upholstery are available upgrades. On the coupe, a standard Panorama roof brings a full tilt/sliding panel of tinted glass with a power-operated interior sunblind that responds to voice control.

Technology

Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and a wireless charging pad are all standard. Burmester 3D Surround Sound is standard on both body styles. Mercedes-Benz lists it at 17 speakers and 660 watts, with a pair built into each front seat and metal grilles on the door speakers. Available MBUX Entertainment Plus adds Dolby Atmos streaming. A head-up display is available through the Pinnacle package. A fingerprint reader in the console recalls a driver profile saved in the Mercedes-Benz app.

Safety and Driver Assistance

DISTRONIC cruise control is standard on every 2027 CLE. It is part of the car, not a paid add-on. Also standard: PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist, which can size up a space and steer into it; Surround View cameras that build a bird’s-eye view, with the rear camera concealed behind the Star ornament until needed; and GUARD 360°, which can alert you if the parked car is bumped and send camera images to your phone with an active Mercedes me connect subscription. The restraint system includes a center air bag between the driver and front passenger.

In European testing published in November 2025, the CLE Coupé earned a five-star overall rating from Euro NCAP. It scored 93% adult occupant, 89% child occupant, 87% vulnerable road users and 83% safety assist. That result covers the coupe body style tested to European protocols.
